Ghost hunting…

Jake and Johnnie and friends have become quite popular on YouTube.  They film their exploits of ghost hunting.  Little surprise when they find something.  If you go looking hard enough for something that’s there, you’ll probably find it.  Also of little surprise is that uncomfortable spooky feeling the viewers receive.  Is this real?  Or is it clever trickery?  Little surprise, because each of us is innately spiritual, with a lingering sense there is more to this existence than we can see with our eyes.  Every now and then we might get a glimpse or a feeling of something inexplicable.  What do we do with something we can’t explain?  Make a YouTube series apparently.

Yet caution is required.  The spiritual realm is chaotic.  Ultimately there is nothing to be feared.  Also of little surprise is the good versus bad themes of our human storytelling over millennia is a reflection of that spiritual turmoil.  Yes.  Good will win.  In fact, good is winning.  That victory is now, but also not yet.  Patience please.

So, what of us in the midst of this?  Some wise advice: If your life is in turmoil in the natural and observable world, ask yourself what might be happening in the spiritual world.  One is the reflection of the other.   If you had a choice between frustration, anger, envy and broken relationships or love, joy, peace, kindness and gentleness, which would you choose?

Is Jake and Johnnie’s stuff real?  Not sure.  Is the possibility to connect meaningfully and powerfully with the Spirit of love and peace real?  Absolutely!  I recall many, many years ago trying to talk to a God that I thought didn’t exist.  Turned he did.
